Then you should be OK. The error can happen in 3 ways: either when the lens wont "come out", or "comes out" and then retracts, or does not retract at all. Reading on, I discovered a few tales of brave owners disassembling and repairing their cameras, mostly successfully. It is possible that the lens error will override the menu, and you might not be able to access it. March 20, 2008 at 9:38 PM charlotte said... There was one position on the zoom dial that will take a clear picture but it took a while to find it. Canon's instructions (by phone) are to 'remove the batteries, rotate the on button and hold for 5 seconds, and then replace the battery'.
