Im just going to have to find out - but this post is really good! Note that even if your camera was produced by another manufacturer, and not Canon, you can still use our instructions to repair the lens error. I dropped my canon powershot SD800IS in the middle of my european vacation. Camera Lens Stuck and ran some more compressed air though.
jdolly, one more thing. Canon Ixus 105 Lens Error I had a similar situation on a Canon Ixus many years back. Matias,As mentioned, these fixes only seem to work for less than half of lens errors. i'd rather doing it my way.

this may remove some of the dirt/debris and free the mechanism. It really was an extremly gentle rotation of the lens which didn't feel as though it could possibly have done any damage to the camera. i have been able to leverage the lens out about 3mm but i can't pull it out any further. Try it a couple of times and bang it very gently on the table. Pay particular care not to scratch your lens barrel with the needle. the lens stays inside the camera and doesnt come out. Thanks for putting this together.

i plugged it into my computer and its working now... I never would have tried this!!! When I hit the power button, I noticed that the telescoping lens tried to adjust itself but got crooked. Looked very bad for me.Then I found this posting.
