what I mean is that I can't even load the game at all... news I went into my program files, then Atari, then Civ 3, then conguest, and then I tried to rename the file.... Go to the Conquests folder 3. The wonder that is the search button.

I tried the "close all programs" solution, but was reluctant to shut off my anti-virus program, and I still got the error. Thanks a lot that I could play civ3 tonight! you saved my life... check my blog The trick for me was shutting down all other starting programs (Run; msonfig; startup) down to a bare minimum, the mere necesseties.
