Most people will assume the sound card itself is having difficulty or the drivers have no been installed, or maybe the system has been muted. The other stuff written did not apply.

Before installing the driver remove the existing driver from Device manager > Audio, video and game controller. Click on that and there should be options for different output devices or input devices. You'll be able to ask any tech support questions, or chat with the community and help others.
