The comp boots fine into safe mode, and I can use safe mode indefinitely with no problems whatsoever. It will probably give you a folder similar to the ones you already deleted. However, permissions of sptd\cfg key for Creator Owner cannot be changed from Special Permissions, Allow only. I downloaded a new version of SPTD (1.60) from the product page but I had the same problem, SPTD installed, asked me to restart and then couldn’t detect the installed driver.
Any ideas here? After that use the methode mentioned above. This driver is not uninstalled with DAEMON Tools Lite. Then restarted comp and reinstalled, worked great.
