I went through the de-install process with the Universal Installer:Then I attempted to delete the client_1 folder at C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\BIN but received an error and was unable to delete. I've done it many times on my own computer and other test PCs. What I did was, I moved the file to desktop.

I thought that maybe this is something involving the oci.dll, but if I use the dll in a similar fashion in a desktop WinForm application then the oci.dll doesn't get locked, In any case, I did specify that this is the "only way" that "I" have found. Anybody cna tell me why this file can't be removed ?
please make sure disk is not full or write-protection..." The disk is NOT full. before that make sure you delete the oracle installation folder. Reboot my machine, Straight after my machine startup, drag it to recycle bin. My math students consider me a harsh grader.

I had this same problem. terminating a process is different from killing a process.. start>program>oracle>oracle installation product>Oracle Universal installer.
